About

Hi! I’m Rachel, a biochemistry PhD student in Madison, WI.  I couldn’t have asked for a better city to cultivate my childhood mischief in the kitchen into a full blown passion for baking, pastry, and good food.  My days are spent using molecular biology and biochemistry to understand the formation of primary energy gradients at plant cell membranes, but my nights are spent with a preheated oven, a fine dusting of flour covering the kitchen, and a never-ending sink-full of dishes.

Perhaps the internet doesn’t need another baking blog, but here I am anyways to put my recipes, trials, and successes where someone else might benefit from and enjoy them and where I will never lose them again.  Thanks for visiting!

Tonight I’ll dream while in my bed; When silly thoughts go through my head; About the bugs and alphabet; And when I wake tomorrow I bet; That you and I will walk together again; I can tell that we are gonna be friends; Yes, I can tell that we are gonna be friends
